Goals
Our vision is a healthy and clean environment, protected by robust rules that respect nature and its resources. We are an international NGO with a network of members and experts advocating for environmentally-friendly technical standards, policies and laws. We ensure the environmental voice is heard when they are developed and drive change by providing expertise to policymakers and industry players, leading to the implementation of strong environmental principles. ECOS was established in 2001 to enhance the voice of the environment within the European and international standardisation system. And over the years we have evolved to contribute as well to EU environmental technical policy and legislation.

Communication Activities
ECOS conducts a range of communication activities to keep members and the broader ECOS network informed about our work. Through the ECOS website (www.ecostandard.org) updates on our work are regularly provided, alongside news concerning ECOS work areas. All of ECOS's publications and positions, as well as the ECOS Work Programme and Annual report, are available at: https://ecostandard.org/publication. A monthly Newsletter is sent out to the ECOS network (including members, partners, and external stakeholders). It is also publicly available through the ECOS website. ECOS Members are also informed of the organisation's activities through regular, member-specific email updates. ECOS has two social media accounts, which are regularly updated: Bluesky https://bsky.app/profile/ecos.ng and LinkedIn https://www.linkedin.com/company/ecos-ngo ECOS attends events and meetings organised by the EU institutions and other stakeholders. ECOS submits responses to calls for evidence and public consultations, and shares its knowledge and technical views on topics relevant to EU policies mentioned above.
