North Data analyzes public sources such as trade registers, mandatory yearly report filings, trademark and patent register, and more, in order to obtain detailed data about companies. This includes calculation of key performance indicators and the identification of relations between companies as well as between companies and persons. For the processing, methods from Big Data and AI are used.
North Data's products are successfully implemented by leading credit agencies, insurance companies, law enforcement agencies, fintech startups, e-commerce companies and others. North Data is a partner of the investigative team of the German newspaper "Süddeutsche Zeitung" that published the famous "Panama Papers". North Data has more than 200 accredited journalists as well as cooperations with leading universities.
The company was founded in 2011 as Biz-Q UG by entrepreneur and mathematician Frank Felix Debatin. In the summer of 2016, Karweg Ventures und die Kölmel Management Group invested in the company that was renamed North Data GmbH and entered into a strategic partnership with Echobot Media Technologies GmbH. The company has its headquarters in Hamburg, Germany.
