SILOET Project 7 - Component Technologies
| Abstract | This project covers aerospace gas turbine component technologies associated with compressor blisks, the air system and the oil system, which are linked to delivering fuel burn benefits, either through direct efficiency benefits, weight reduction, or enabling higher pressure ratio and temperature cycles. Advanced seals are a key strand delivering via rig testing and engine demonstration. Lubricant technology, oil lifing and the issue of heat to oil, focused on scavenge improvements, will also be addressed. The focus of the blisk activity will be on the key repair enabling technologies to reduce life cycle cost. |
