Goals
GravitHy aims to decarbonize the steel industry by producing reduced iron (HBI) from low-carbon hydrogen generated by water electrolysis, replacing traditionally used coal. The reduced iron is then resold to steelmakers, enabling them to produce high-quality steel with very low emissions. A first plant, with an annual capacity of 2Mt of HBI, will open in Fos-sur-Mer, in the South of France, in 2030.
