The purpose of the society is the promotion of science and research, especially in the fields of innovative diagnostics and therapy in urology. The purpose is to be achieved in particular by founding and maintaining a research institute for innovative diagnostics and therapy in urology. In particular, the Institute has the following tasks: 3.1 Interdisciplinary, project- and application-oriented basic research of the disciplines and disciplines it pursues, taking into account new molecular, biotechnological and biomathematical findings as well as advances in medical technology; a special field of research is dedicated to nanotechnology and nanoscience. 3.2 Development of new diagnostic methods for the early detection, prognosis and progression assessment of urological diseases in the broadest sense. 3.3 Development and improvement of treatment strategies for urological tumors based on surgical and radiation techniques, immunotherapy, gene therapy and drug manipulation of disease-relevant target structures, both as a single measure and in combination. 3.4 Further development of plastic and prosthetic procedures in children and adults under the special aspect of tissue engineering. 3.5 Research in the field of renal replacement therapy and transplantation in both childhood and adults. 3.6 Further development of minimally invasive urology and surgery and other disciplines as well as robotics. 3.7 Applied research (contract-related research) on these topics by establishing and expanding cooperative relationships with domestic and foreign companies in the economy. 3.8 Evaluation of experiences and data on disease progression from regional, supra-regional and international outpatient and inpatient care; Initiation and organization of appropriate multicenter studies. 3.9 Development of an efficient didactics for the transfer of the research findings into practice. Implementation of training and further education events. 3.10 Cooperation relationships with domestic and foreign scientific institutions of universities, clinics and companies. 3.11 Intensification of a national and international scientific exchange programme for doctors in education and training in order to establish special diagnostic and therapeutic procedures at the Institute or to pass them on to other institutions. 3.12 Scientific education and training, in particular support for students by awarding and supervising medical and scientific graduation theses. 3.13 Guide functions for finding research funds at federal, state and local level, at the private sector and associations as well as at supranational authorities and organisations with the aim of making them available for specific research projects. The Institute supports medical or medically relevant research projects at its own discretion. The company pursues exclusively and directly charitable and charitable purposes within the meaning of the section "tax-privileged purposes" of the tax code.
